Sulecki Claims Jacobs Won’t Repeat GGG Performance

Maciej Sulecki knows how great Daniel Jacobs can be, but feels that people should not expect the same Jacobs that fought Gennady Golovkin in 2017.

“First of all, this was the best Danny Jacobs fight ever,” said Sulecki, who’ll face Jacobs on Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

“I don’t think he will ever repeat this kind of performance. It was more about Golovkin not fighting tactically well. It was a bad fight by Golovkin and I am really surprised people are judging Danny Jacobs only by using his fight versus Golovkin. Why not judge Danny [by] his fight versus Arias, such a clown like Arias? I’m putting the question out – why, Danny, didn’t you finish such a clown, like Arias?”

Jacobs would not answer the question directly, but defend his performance claiming Arias was reluctant to engage when the two fought in November 2017.

While Sulecki knows that Jacobs is the best fighter he’s ever faced, but it won’t be the best fight in the ring at Barclays Center.

“Yes, when you look at it on paper, wins and losses, Danny Jacobs is the best fighter who I ever fought,” Sulecki said.

“But we’re gonna verify who is on the 28th.”
