UFC 214 Bonuses, Attendance & Gate
The UFC 214 event featured a stack card filled with three title fights and promising match-ups, and it’s safe to say the show delivered. The Honda Center in Anaheim, California, was stacked to capacity, as 16,610 people sold out the arena for a gate of $2,448,870.
The Fight of the Night was awarded to the featherweight contest between Renato Moicano and Brian Ortega. Both men entered their preliminary card contest with 11 wins and no losses, and the two were next to one another in the UFC’s featherweight rankings. Ortega won the bout via guillotine choke submission in the third round.
Performance bonuses were awarded to Jon Jones and Volkan Oezdemir. In the main event of UFC 214, Jones defeated longtime bitter rival Daniel Cormier via third-round KO to win back the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Oezdemir kicked off the main pay-per-view card by knocking out Jimi Manuwa in just 22 seconds. Oezdemir then proceeded to call out the winner of Cormier vs. Jones, but Jones called out Brock Lesnar following his win.
All four award recipients receive an additional $50,000 bonus to their fight purses.
