UFC 215 Full Card Announced
The lineup is set for the UFC’s return trip to Canada next month.
The card features twelve fights on September 9th at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The main card airs on pay-per-view following four prelims on FS1 and three on UFC Fight Pass.
In the main event, flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson looks for his record 11th consecutive title defense when he takes on challenger Ray Borg. Johnson, will break middleweight great Anderson Silva’s longstanding title-defense record if he wins. While his opponent Borg, who’s won two straight and five of his past six, has jmissed weight on two occasions.
In the co-main event, women’s bantamweight titleholder Amanda Nunes will have a rematch against Valentina Shevchenko. Nunes, who bested Miesha Tate for the title during her current five-fight winning streak, also defeated No. 2-ranked Shevchenko via unanimous decision as champion. Shevchenko since her loss to Nunes has since rebounded with wins over ex-champ Holly Holm (decision) and Julianna Pena (submission).
To fill out the main card, former lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos fights at welterweight for the second time when he meets Neil Magny; Ilir Latifi takes on Tyson Pedro at light heavyweight; and former Strikeforce lightweight champ and two-time UFC title challenger Gilbert Melendez moves to featherweight to fight fellow veteran Jeremy Stephens to open up the pay-per-view portion.
