UFC 229 Pre-Lims Net 1.3 Million Viewers

The UFC 229 Pay Per View may break company records, but the pre-lims will not reach a similar peak.

While the October 6th prelims would average 1,308,000 viewers, the highest since the UFC 193 prelims which had 1,511,000, it would only be the 11th highest in the history of UFC on FS1.

The broadcast did nearly double the average of 2018 prelim audience of 732,000

The number continues a trend for former UFC double champion Conor McGregor, who usually features a lower average audience for preliminary cards, but big numbers on Pay Per View.

1.3 million is a strong number on a night where the UFC would face competition from a New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox game on TVS which would draw 5,059,000 viewers, as well as a big night of college football headlined by ABC’s broadcast of Notre Dame and Virginia Tech at 4,473,000 viewers.
