UFC 235 Salaries: Jones-Woodley Make $500 K
Nine fighters made six figures in disclosed pay at UFC 235, with UFC light heavyweight and now former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley leading the way.
Jones and Woodley would get $500,000 flat salaries for their work on March 2nd from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, per a report from MMA Junkie.
Jones would retain his light heavyweight title in a unanimous decision win against Anthony Smith, while Woodley would be dethroned by Kamaru Usman by the same result. Both Smith and Usman would make a flat $350,000 for their night’s work.
Ben Askren would also make $350,000 for his UFC debut win over Robbie Lawler, who made $200,000 in a controversial first round submission loss.
Cody Garbrandt would make $130,000 for his first-round TKO loss to Pedro Munhoz, who made $96,000 at UFC 235. Both fighters would walk away with an extra $50,000 due to being declared “Fight Of The Night.”
Diego Sanchez would net $198,000 and a $50,000 performance bonus for stopping Mickey Gall
Former bantamweight champ Cody Garbrandt (11-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) made $130,000 in a losing cause against Pedro Munhoz (18-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC), who picked up a first-round TKO. Munhoz made $96,000 in disclosed pay, but both he and Garbrandt made an extra $50,000 each for “Fight of the Night.”
The total disclosed payroll for the event was $3,334,000
