UFC 236 Prelims Average 836,000 Viewers

The UFC’s success on ESPN hit a snag on Saturday, as the UFC 236 preliminary card only averaged 893,000 viewers.

While it would win the night for the 18-49 male demo, as well as all male demos, it would trail behind the Hallmark Network for the night.

It would also be a drop from the UFC 234 (1,480,000) and UFC 235 (1,339,000), the first two UFC-PPV prelim cards on the network.

While the prelims lacked tangible star power or names, the UFC 236 prelims also faced strong competition from an NBA playoffs match up between the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers (4,826,000), NASCAR on FOX (2,787,000) and a Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs playoff game (1,706,000), which could have contributed to the drop off.
