UFC Belem Adds Vera-DeAndrade

The UFC has announced that their return to Brazil will feature two new fights, as Tim Means vs. Sergio Moraes and Marlon Vera vs. Douglas Silva de Andrade have have been added to the card.

The Fight Night show headlined by Lyoto Machida taking on Eryk Anders, will take place at the Mangueirinho Gymnasium in Belem, Brazil, on February 3rd. The latest card additions have beefed the full card to 12 fights.

Means returns to Brazil following his loss to Alex Oliveira in Fortaleza in March 2017. Since that bout, Means has split his last two fights, defeating Alex Garcia and a loss to Belal Muhammad.

Moraes, a TUF Brazil middleweight finalist, was unbeaten in seven fights as a welterweight in the UFC, including a quick submission win over Neil Magny, but recently suffered a first-round knockout against Kamaru Usman.

Vera was riding a three-fight winning streak, which was snapped in a decision loss to John Lineker in Brazil this past November. The Ecuador native finished Brad Pickett and Brian Kelleher prior to his defeat.

Andrade  is also looking to bounce back from a submission loss to Rob Font. Born in Castanhal, 45 miles away from Belem, “D’Silva” went 2-2 inside the Octagon after joining the company with a perfect 20-0 record.
