UFC Claims UFC 225 Drew More Than 150K Buys

Earlier this week, it was reported that UFC 225 would fall astronomically bellow expectations with 150,000 pay per view buys.

On Thursday, the UFC would come out swinging against the reports. UFC attorney Hunter Campbell said listing 150,000 as the number of pay per view purchases for the UFC’s return to Chicago was a “material misrepresentation” and was short by “something in excess of six figures.”

And while Campbell would not be forthcoming with the actual numbers, the UFC has taken a hit this year on Pay Per View, with stars such as Conor McGregor battling legal issues, and Ronda Rousey leaving the sport for opportunities in acting and professional wrestling.

One reason many thought the number was correct was due to the main event of Yoel Romero against Robert Whittaker, was the same main event of UFC 213 which would only draw 150,000 buys on pay per view.
