Warren Outlines Tyson Fury’s Return
Promoter Frank Warren believes it will take time for Tyson Fury to get back to form, and believes there will be more than one ‘comeback fight’ for his latest signing.
Fury is slated to return to the ring on June 9th in Manchester against Sefer Seferi, and may line up some other lesser known opponents until the end of the year.”Tyson is back, in fantastic shape and full of beans, ready to take the first step on the road back towards World domination once again,” said Warren.
“He needs comeback fights in order to shake off the ring rust after such a lengthy absence and I am sure the fans will once again enjoy the ride back to the top.”
While Seferi may be seen by fans as a body to just be on the opposite side of Fury’s punches, Warren claims that “Seferi is no pushover, he’s gone the distance with a World class fighter in Manuel Charr.”
“He has spent the majority of his career at Cruiserweight, but so had Tony Bellew and David Haye before stepping up to the Heavyweight division,” he added.
The goal remains to schedule a fight with either Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder for 2019, in hopes of getting his heavyweight championships back, after relinquishing them in late 2015.
