Adrien Broner made a successful return to the ring after a tumultuous year in 2016, beating Adrian Granados by split decision. Though the victory was hard-fought, he reestablished himself as a potential big name in the welterweight division. With that status, he has put himself in the running for a potential fight against Manny Pacquiao.
There were rumors that Broner and Pacquiao’s team were in negotiations for a potential fight, but they never could reach financial terms that satisfied both parties. According to Broner, the fight can be made, but he will only do it for the right price.
"I’ve had talks with Bob [Arum]," Broner told Fight Hub TV. "We just can’t sell ourselves short. I know our worth, and I know what a type of fight like that could do for the sport. So just pay me what I deserve, and we can have a hell of a fight."
