Following comments made by Gennady Golovkin, claiming that Canelo Alvarez has cheated multiple times prior to his most recent failure for Clenbuterol, Alvarez decided to reply in his own way with an expletive laden attack towards Golovkin.
What drew Alvarez’ ire was Golovkin’s claims about Alvarez and his promoter Oscar De La Hoya being “dirty,” telling reporters that, “I told you, it’s not Mexican meat. This is Canelo. This is his team. This is his promotion. … Canelo is cheating. They’re using these drugs, and everybody is just trying to pretend it’s not happening.”
Golovkin also told reporters, that he believes that Alvarez has been using performance enhancing drugs for a few years, and claimed that Oscar De La Hoya, is dirty.
“It was pretty obvious when (Canelo’s) muscles were all (enlarged) … and with the traces of injections, which were visible,” Golovkin said. “I can talk about Oscar De La Hoya, too. He is also not clean. He’s dirty.
“You should take a look at the photos and ask a doctor. Ask any doctor. Let him explain what those (muscles) are. It’s better even to use the lie detector. Then there wouldn’t be any silly questions about meat or fruits or chocolate.”
In response to this, Alvarez posted two videos of him training to his Instagram stories, the videos featured text overlays featuring threats and insults towards Golovkin.

Soon after the videos were posted to his story, Alvarez would delete them from his Instagram.
