While Tyron Woodley walked out of UFC 228 still UFC welterweight champion, another welterweight competing on the events prelims was the talk of Dallas.
Hometown hero Geoff Neal walked into the Octagon for the UFC 228 pre-lims looking for a showcase win against Frank Camacho. It would not take Neal long to do that with a devastating showcase against the now 21-7 fighter.
Neal would walk off an impressive performance with a debilitating head kick, which would lay out Camacho and end the fight in the second round.
The Dallas native would set the tone early in the fight, but Camacho would find ways to keep fighting back, until a leg kick would wrap around his head and send him straight to the canvas.
Earning his UFC contract by competing on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, Neal would improve to 10-2 as a pro, and has possibly set himself up for a future world title shot against Woodley.
