WATCH: Mayweather Claims To Be Making A Boxing Video Game

Boxing games were once the hallmark of console gaming, beginning with Mike Tyson’s Punchout for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Yet, since 2011 there has been no boxing titles for major consoles, but it seems that Floyd Mayweather may be bringing boxing back to gaming.

Mayweather was interviewed by TMZ following his 41st birthday party over the weekend, and said that he is working on his own boxing video game, and not working with EA on an alleged “Fight Night” revival that has been rumored.

He claimed that he needs “ownership” over everything he puts his name and likeness, and a video game would be no different.
