One of the men implicated in the biggest performance enhancing drug rings of the past twenty years is now stepping in to defend heavyweight challenger Luis Ortiz following his VADA drug test coming up positive.
Victor Conte, former CEO of BALCO, which was the company utilized by Major League Baseball players such as Barry Bonds, released a video regarding the positive test given by Ortiz prior to his scheduled fight with Deontay Wilder in November.

Conte takes not only the test, but also the paperwork given by the drug testing body utilized for the fight, for not being clear and breaks down athletes who are on the same blood pressure medication found in Ortiz’ test who were given a pass by USADA.
Conte calls this a potential disaster for anti-doping in boxing, and calls the VADA form a case for comparative negligence, and needs to be improved.
Whether or not Conte and his input would be a key to keep the fight on is unsure, but if anyone is an expert on PED’s and ways around it… It would be Victor Conte.
