Weidman To Face Souza At UFC 230

While it won’t be against Luke Rockhold, Chris Weidman will be in the co-main event for UFC 230 on November 3rd at Madison Square Garden.

Former UFC Middleweight champion, Weidman, was set to face Rockhold on November 3rd, but Rockhold would pull out due to mounting injuries. The UFC would scramble for a replacement and find Ronaldo “Jacre” Souza to take the last minute fight in Rockhold’s place.

Weidman has not fought since his July 2017 win over Kelvin Gastelum, which would break a three fight losing streak that began at UFC 194, when he lost the middleweight title to Luke Rockhold.

Souza, who was set to fight David Branch on the card, is looking to bounce back from a split decision loss to Gastelum at UFC 224.
