Even though Jon Jones is awaiting a USADA suspension, and Brock Lesnar is the WWE Universal Champion, Dana White is still entertaining the idea of a fight between the two.
In an interview with TMZ following last weekend’s UFC 225, White claims that Lesnar’s WWE contract expires this summer, and may open the door for his return to the Octagon.
“Brock’s WWE deal is up at the end of the summer I think and I know he wants to fight so I’m sure we’ll end up getting that figured out,” White said.
While Francis Ngannou may be the eventual opponent, White claims that Jones and Lesnar want to square off.
“(Ngannou)’s a fine fight, absolutely,” White said. “There’s a lot of options. Jon Jones is very interested in Brock Lesnar and Brock is very interested in Jon Jones.”
“Brock Lesnar, if you want to know what it feels like to get your ass kicked by a guy who weighs 40 pounds less than you, meet me in the Octagon,” Jones said following his win at UFC 214, which would be turned into a no-contest for a failed drug test.
Lesnar also has his own drug woes to worry about, as he would need to sit out for an additional six months to fulfill his suspension for a failed test at UFC 200.
