White Confirms Masvidal-Diaz Is Off The Table

Nick Diaz’ return to the Octagon won’t be coming anytime soon, as his fight against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 235 is cancelled.

“I think that’s pretty clear,” said UFC President Dana White at the UFC 232 post-fight press conference. “All you’ve got to do is look at [Diaz’s] Instagram. I don’t think it looks like he’s training for a fight.”

White is referring to Diaz’ behavior on social media, calling out the UFC, and complementing Bellator and Bellator President Scott Coker for paying him better.

Diaz has not fought in four years, making his last appearance inside the Octagon in a decision-loss/no-contest against Anderson Silva at UFC 183, and before that suffering a suspension due to testing positive for marijuana metabolites in-competition and failing to report his location on three different occasions in 2016, earning him a one year suspension in 2017.

Diaz has not had a win since 2011 against BJ Penn.
