Whyte-Ortiz Title Eliminator Alleged For July

Per a report from ESPN’s Dan Rafael, Dillian Whyte will not face Kubrat Pulev, but instead former WBC mandatory Luis Ortiz.

The report claims that Whyte will face off against Ortiz on July 28th in the United Kingdom. This announcement comes off the heels of the announcement of a  press conference  set for Thursday, hosted by Whyte’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, where Whyte’s opponent will meet him face to face.

The winner of this alleged fight would be the new mandatory challenger to Deontay Wilder’s WBC heavyweight championship.

Whyte was also in negotiations to fight Kubrat Pulev to be the mandatory for Anthony Joshua’s IBF world title, in a purse bid won by third party promoter Epic Sports & Entertainment.

The purse would have seen Whyte entitled to 25 percent of a $1,500,111 purse.
