This is a huge improvement from Wilder’s last showing on the network, when he faced off against Berman Stiverne in November of 2017. Wilder’s first round destruction of the former WBC champion averaged 824,000 viewers for the live airing, peaking at 887,000, which was the second highest watched fight of 2017 on the network.
One would have to guess that the massive buildup of the fight, and the idea of Wilder facing Joshua helped almost double the audience from Wilder’s last fight.
