Wilder: Sponsor Ortiz’ Shoes Cause He’s Getting KO’ed
Much like when Joe Namath guaranteed his Jets would beat the Colts at Super Bowl III, another man who found Tuscaloosa home WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is predicting a vicious knockout of unbeaten contender Luis Ortiz. And while this fight won’t take place on Broadway, it will emanate across the bridge from Manhattan at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on November.
Wilder while pulling a “mystic Mac” style prediction advised potential sponsors to advertise Ortiz’s boxing shoes, because,
“He’ll be on his back, staring at the ceiling and they’ll be seeing both of them at the end of this fight.”
Wilder loves fighting at Barclays Center and makes it clear that after he knocks out Ortiz, who hasn’t fought since stopping David Allen in the seventh round in December of 2016, he wants no excuses from anyone.
“I can’t wait for the environment, to feel the energy of the people who are gonna come out and watch me and Ortiz fight. I personally called out Ortiz. I want to prove that I am the division’s best, and that starts on November 4. When I beat this guy, I don’t want any excuses from the commentators, the public, other fighters or the so-called expert boxing analysts. Some people already are making excuses about his age, but that wasn’t the case before I started calling him out. When I beat this guy, I want all of my due credit.”
