WKF Brings Premier League To Dubai

Beginning Friday, the road to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo goes through Dubai, as some of the best karatekas compete at the Karate 1-Premier League: Dubai.

Nearly 800 competitors from 86 countries will come to the UAE from February 15-17th, as world champions, fan favorites, and rising stars compete to improve their standings as they get closer to next year’s Olympic Games.

In the first Karate 1-Premier League event in Paris, five Grand Winners would make their way to the top of the podium, including Serap Ozcelik of Turkey, Gwendoline Philippe and Steven Dacosta of France, and Ayumi Uekusa and Ryo Kiyuna of Japan.

Looking to repeat their success from last year’s trip to Dubai, Sandra Sanchez of Spain, Turkey’s Serap Ozcelik and Eray Samdan, Italy’s Sara Cardin, France’s Alizee Agier, Japan’s Ayumi Uekusa and Azerbaijan’s Rafael Aghayev look to set the bar across the three days of competition from the AL WASL Club.
