Earlier today, an announcement made early Wednesday afternoon that Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather would be using eight ounce gloves, instead of the traditionally mandated 10 ounce gloves for all fights above 144 pounds. It seems that change has those placing the odds giving Conor McGregor a better chance of beating Floyd Mayweather next Saturday night.
Conor McGregor is now a +325 against Floyd Mayweather (-450). McGregor is now less of an underdog than Maidana, Cotto, Judah, Berto & Ortiz.

When odds for this fight opened in November of last year, McGregor was a +950 underdog, and with this drastic shift in odds, do oddsmakers truly feel that McGregor has a better shot or are they looking to goad more people into placing their money on McGregor?
Only way we will know is after fight night next Saturday.
