McGregor Talks Up His ‘Mystic Mac’ Persona

Conor McGregor (22-6) talked up his “Mystic Mac” persona ahead of his UFC 329 return, predicting a clinical demolition of Max Holloway (27-9) when the pair rematch on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The confidence is familiar territory for McGregor, who built his early career on calling his shots and delivering — from the 13-second knockout of Jose Aldo to his finish of Dustin Poirier. The question is whether he can replicate it. McGregor has not fought since 2021 when he lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Oddsmakers have him as a +210 underdog against Holloway, who is priced at -270. McGregor dismissed any concerns about ring rust, framing his absence as an advantage rather than a liability.

“It’s going to be a demolition. It’s going to be an absolute demolition. I know the damage he’s taken. I will just have to touch him, and after that, it will be clinical. To win alone is not enough; it must be spectacular. I look at the rest period that I have had, where I look at other competitors in the space, including my opponent. I feel a lot more fresher than these opponents,” McGregor
