Aaron Pico Set To Face Jeremy Kennedy at Bellator 286
The much-awaited matchup between the two of the finest featherweights of Bellator is set to go down later this year as the promotion has added the bout to its October pay-per-view.
Bellator announced that another featherweight bout featuring Aaron Pico (10-3) and Jeremy Kennedy (17-3) has been added to an already star-studded fight card.
The duo was due to face in April, but an injury forced Kennedy to withdraw from the contest. However, Pico did find a replacement in Adli Edwards and knocked him out in the third round via ground and pound.
Pico is currently riding a six-fight winning streak in the promotion and a win against Kennedy can propel him to a fight for a title that he has been wanting.
Things weren’t the same when he first started his career in the promotion back in 2017, going 4-3 in his first seven fights including two losses by knockout.
But the Cali-native slowly found his feet and is considered a formidable force in the featherweight division now.
His next opponent, Kennedy could prove to be a stern test for the 25-year-old as he has a vast experience in the sport and has fought in promotions like UFC and PFL.
Bellator 286 is scheduled to take place on October 1 in Long Beach, California. The pay-per-view is headlined by a title fight between the reigning 145-lb champ Patricio Pitbull (33-5) and Ádám Borics (18-1).
In the co-main event of the evening, AJ McKee will contest again Spike Carlyle in three five-minute rounds to determine the next No.1 contender for the lightweight belt.
