Abdelaziz Faces Multiple Charges In Vegas

After last week’s incident with Anthony Pettis and his agent, MMA manager Ali Abdelaziz finds himself charged with battery for the second time in 2019.

The most recent incident took place at the PFL’s first 2019 playoff event, where he was alleged to have struck Abe Kawa of First Round Management, a rival combat sports management agency.

According to a police report found by MMA Fighting, Abdelaziz struck Kawa in the face with a closed fist, in the presence of two on-duty Las Vegas Police officers.

When giving his statement to the police, Kawa claimed Abdelaziz had approached him saying thay needed to speak, “and subsequently struck him in the face with a closed fist on the right side of his face for no reason.” which was corroborated by Leisette France, the fiancee of former UFC lightweight champ Anthony Pettis.

PFL spokesperson Greg Savage released a prepared statement claiming the PFL is “aware of an incident”  and is “continuing to gather information.”

Abdelaziz must stand in front of a judge on November 25th for another incident in Las Vegas, one that took place in March where Usman and Abdelaziz were caught trying to fight UFC welterweight Colby Covington on the buffet line at the Palms Casino.

An alleged victim of the buffet brawl, Michael John Johnson told the police on March 20th that  he was “a member of team Colby Covington in the UFC” and that Usman and “other members of his team approached and began to assault him and the rest of Covington’s team.”

While Johnson portrayed himself as a member of Covington’s team, the fighter claims Johnson was “just an innocent civilian caught in the line of fire.”
