Abdelaziz: Mayweather Is “Begging” For Fight With Khabib

Ali Abdelaziz claims that he and Floyd Mayweather have been in contact in the past several weeks over the possibility of having UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov fight the unbeaten boxer.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, Abdelaziz gives an update on rumored talks between of a potential Nurmagomedov, coming off his win over Conor McGregor, and Mayweather. Abdelaziz would go on to talk trash about Mayweather’s age and body, proclaiming that Nurmagomedov can win that fight.

“I think Floyd’s scared. Me and him have been texting each other for the last month and if he says he did not, I’m going to put everything online. Don’t lie Floyd, don’t lie Floyd. He’s very much begging for the fight. I told him in a text message he’s 57 years old, his body’s weak, he’s fragile, got a small head. People think I’m crazy, but I think Khabib will beat his ass. He really thinks Khabib is easy money but Khabib is much younger, much stronger, more tougher than Conor and Conor went to the eleventh round with him, you know? And Conor gave up, he’s a quitter. Khabib is no quitter. But at the end of the day, if he wants it, the fight is here,” Abdelaziz said.

Mayweather’s boxing career officially ended in August 2017 when he defeated McGregor in a boxing fight to reach a 50-0 record. Mayweather did recently fight Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in an exhibition fight under boxing rules at Rizin 14, with Mayweather emerging victorious. After the fight, Mayweather stated that he is still retired and won’t be coming back to have an official fight.

In regards to what rules a potential fight between Mayweather and Nurmagomedov would it fall under, Abdelaziz would add that Mayweather is not a fighter and isn’t ready for an actual fight in a UFC octagon. If a fight between the two fighters gets made, Abdelaziz said Nurmagomedov would have no problem doing it under boxing rules.

“Floyd Mayweather is not a fighter. He’s an athlete. In the UFC, you have to be a full blown fighter. If we catch Floyd Mayweather on the streets, we’ll beat his ass. He can’t defend himself, you understand? He’s an athlete. He doesn’t have enough balls to fight in a real fight. Khabib will fight you in an elevator, phone booth… Floyd Mayweather only can fight you in a boxing ring. He’s gonna call himself a fighter, okay, but he don’t have enough balls to go to the UFC and we will fight him in a boxing fight and we will beat his ass, no problem.”
