Adrien Broner Vs. Omar Figueroa Is Set For August 20

Adrien Broner and Omar Figueroa to square off at Hollywood, Florida’s Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on August 20th, according to various sources.

The fight was first announced in early June, and it was to originally take place on July 23rd in Chicago. However, it has now been rescheduled after mounts of radio silence.

According to Julius Julianis, the Showtime card will also feature Alberto Puello vs. Batyr Akhmedov for the vacant WBA “super” title at 140. This was also confirmed by Keith Idec, who also added that the rescheduled super featherweight title fight between Roger Gutierrez and Hector Garcia will land on it as well.

There are some who feel this main event comes several years too late. That being said, both fighters are currently at a similar level, meaning the fight is sure to be competitive.
