African Karatekas Prepare For UFAK Seniors

African Karatekas will make their way to Rwanda this weekend, not only to grab gold at the 2018 UFAK Senior Karate Championships, but also gain some ground in the standings for the 2020 Summer Games.

300 competitors from 22 nations will look to position themselves for glory, with the three day event beginning on August 31st.

World champion Giana Lofty of Egypt is a heavy favorite to standout this coming weekend, as she looks for a medal in her fourth straight senior championship in Female Kumite -61kg, after not competing in 2017.

Other Egyptian Karatekas, such as Sarah Sayed. Radwa Sayed, and Ali Elsawy look to put their nation at the top of the medal count this weekend, and improve upon their eight medals attained in the 2017 edition of the tournament held in Cameroon.
