AJ McKee Vs Patricio Pitbull II Date Officially Set

The rematch is set.

AJ McKee and Patricio “Pitbull” Freire will officially meet again on April 15, Bellator announced on Wednesday.

The 145-pound championship will headline Bellator 277 at SAP Center in San Jose, California. It’ll also feature a light heavyweight title fight between champion Vadim Nemkov and Corey Anderson.

McKee (18-0) only fought once in 2021, but created major buzz in the promotion with his first-round submission victory over Freire in July. He is the No. 1 men’s pound-for-pound fighter in Bellator.

Freire (32-5) is one of the top fighters in Bellator and is also a former two-division champion in the promotion. He is ranked No. 3 in the men’s pound-for-pound ranking.

The Brazilian star is also the second to ever become a two-weight champion simultaneously in Bellator. He vacated his lightweight title to focus on the rematch, and give opportunity to his older brother, Patricky, to fight for the belt. He has since claimed the title.
