Aldo Accepts Stephens Challenge, Waiting On UFC

After getting a challenge by Jeremy Stephens, former UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo was more than happy to oblige.

In a report from Bloody Elbow, Aldo has confirmed that he has accepted Stephens challenge, and according to his coach Andre Pederneiras, it will be when the UFC comes to Singapore.

“We already accepted a fight against Jeremy Stephens. We’re expecting it to be in June in Singapore. We’re just waiting for confirmation. The venue and the opponent are certain, they just have to make the decision.”

Stephens is riding a three fight winning streak into this potential fight, which has not been officially announced by the UFC.

On the other side of the Octagon, Aldo is looking to get his first win since defending the featherweight title against Frankie Edgar at UFC 200 in 2016, and is coming off a loss at UFC 218 to Max Holloway.

UFC Fight Night 132 is expected to take place in Singapore on June 23, and there have been no fights signed as of yet.
