Alex Pereira, The Only Man To KO Israel Adesanya, Likely To Sign With UFC

The only man who managed to earn a KO victory against Israel Adesanya is likely to join the UFC.

Alex Pereira (33-6 in kickboxing, 3-1 in MMA) is reportedly closing in on signing a deal with UFC. He is expected to debut in the 185-pound division sometime soon, but it’s unclear after he dropped his GLORY light heavyweight title against Artem Vakhitov on Saturday.

Pereira managed to defeat Adesanya – whose kickboxing record is 75-5 – twice in kickboxing, one of them by a brutal knockout, after landing a huge left hook.

Pereira’s record in MMA includes three victories and only one defeat. The last time he earned a victory was at LFA 95 was in November 2020. He faced Thomas Powell and defeated him via first-round knockout.

Adesanya is the man who took UFC like a storm.

He fought six times in the UFC in just under two years, and the sixth one was for the interim title. He earned his title shot two years after signing in the UFC.

He became champion after dethroning Robert Whittaker via second-round KO.
