Alex Pereira Vs. Bruno Silva Targeted For March UFC Fight Night Card

Two middleweights have reportedly agreed for a March UFC Fight Night event.

Alex Pereira and Bruno Silva informally agreed for a UFC Fight Night card on March 12. The promotion has yet to formally announce the matchup.

Pereira, a former Glory kickboxing world champion who joined the UFC this year, won his professional debut at UFC 268 against Andreas Michailidis. He won the second round with a solid flying knee followed by a barrage of punches.

Silva, who has won seven consecutive fights in M-1 and the UFC, may be difficult opponent for Pereira. He has won all seven contests via knockout, including his most recent victory against Jordan Wright at UFC 269.

Pereira is well-known for being the only person to ever knock out Israel Adesanya in kickboxing. Before moving on to the UFC, he held Glory’s light heavyweight and middleweight world belts.

In addition to his kickboxing accomplishments, Pereira has demonstrated excellent performances in lesser MMA companies such as Legacy and Jungle Fight. He knocked out Marcelo Cruz and Thomas Powell in rapid succession.

However, MMA is a totally different kind of sport, and the striking abilities change when takedown attempts take place.

Silva has an experienced MMA fighter, but he is a striker.

The main event will be a light heavyweight fight between top contenders Thiago Santos and Magomed Ankalaev. The event’s venue and location are yet to be confirmed.
