Alex Pereira vs. Jamahal Hill To Headline UFC 300

UFC 300 finally has its main event. Alex Pereira will defend his UFC Light Heavyweight title vs. former champion Jamahal Hill. UFC CEO Dana White announced the fight immediately following UFC 298.

Pereira will make the first defense of his light heavyweight title, which he won last November at UFC 295. “Poatan” claimed the vacant belt, which Hill vacated due to injury, TKOing Jiří Procházka in the second round. It was just Pereira’s second UFC fight at 205. The former UFC middleweight champion made his light heavyweight debut in July 2023, scoring a decision against Jan Blackowicz.

Hill returns to action for the first time in more than a year. “Sweet Dreams” earned the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship against Glover Teixeira at UFC 283 in January 2023, becoming the first Dana White’s Contender Series alumn to win a UFC title. Hill, unfortunately, ruptured his Achilles tendon seven months later while playing in a fighter basketball game during UFC International Fight Week. Hill vacated his title shortly after.
