Alex Pereira’s Sister Booked For Shot At UFC Contract

Aline Pereira (3-2) is booked to fight on Dana White’s Contender Series, giving her an opportunity to earn a UFC contract.

Pereira, 35, is a kickboxer like her brother Alex Pereira (13-4), a two-division UFC champion.

Aline enters Contender Series as the Karate Combat flyweight champion. Her most recent MMA outing was a split-decision win over bare-knuckle fighter Jade Masson-Wong on May 16 during MVP MMA: Rousey vs. Carano. Alex Pereira coached Aline’s corner in that fight. Prior to that, she also competed under the Legacy Fighting Alliance banner.

Pereira will face Smilla Sundell (2-0) in a bantamweight bout at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas on October 13.

Though Sundell is only 21, she brings significant striking experience as a former ONE women’s strawweight Muay Thai champion. She has also competed in kickboxing and enters the matchup with a 2-0 MMA record. Both of her MMA victories came by TKO under the Tuff-N-Uff banner.

The latest season of Dana White’s Contender Series began in August. Four events have taken place so far, with 20 fighters earning UFC contracts.

Some of the most successful graduates from the program include Sean O’Malley, Bo Nickal and Jack Della Maddalena.
