Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski (25-2 MMA, 12-1 UFC) is considering a bout with Aljamain Sterling.
Volkanovski’s last fight was against Islam Makhachev as he moved up in weight. While that may have been the case, he ended up coming second best via a unanimous decision.
But given that Sterling competes at bantamweight and is the current champion, Volkanovski is keeping his eyes on him. The latter will face Sean O’Malley (16-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) on August 19th, 2023, at UFC 292.
And if Sterling were to come out victorious, Volkanovski is ready to face him.

“If (Sterling) goes down there and takes out Sean, I think he’s definitely paid his dues. How many title defenses would that be? Three or four. There you go. He’s a big dude. But yeah, he’s got a tough fight ahead of him. But that’s another possible fight. There’s plenty of options,” Volkanovski said
That potential fight went down well on social media with may fans getting behind it.
