The current UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski has undergone surgery on his arm, as he will be out of action for the next six weeks before he can get back to full-contact training.
The news arrives following Volkanovski’s victory over Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290. In the aftermath, the champion spoke about an injury.
“It’s not a big deal. I’ll be back ASAP. It will be a quick one. I just need to get something sorted, but I’ll be training. I broke my hand last International Fight Week, and you’ll see me ready to fight in Abu Dhabi to fight Islam or Charles Oliveira. This ain’t a broken bone. We’ll be alright. I’ll be training. I want to be active,” Volkanovski
And now the champion’s social media confirmed as much.

As soon as he recuperates, Volkanovski has made it clear that he wants to run things back with Islam Makhachev.
Volkanovski lost their fight at UFC 284 in February via a unanimous decision.
But given that Dana White is on board with the idea of a rematch, Volkanovski will be keen on getting his revenge.
