All Star Fight 3 Results

All Star Fight returned to Bangkok, Thailand with a major show headlined by Buakaw Banchamek taking on last-minute replacement opponent Luis Passos.

Banchmaek dominated the fight, landing numerous clean strikes on his Portuguese opponent. Passos was able to withstand anything Banchmaek was able to dish out, but wasn’t able to land any significant strikes that would hurt Banchmaek. Banchmaek got the decision win over a game Passos, who came in as a replacement opponent after Banchmaek’s original opponent, Nic Larsen, pulled out of the fight due to a staph infection, leaving Passos to take the fight on five days’ notice.

The win over Passos was a welcome one for Banchmaek, who lost his most recent fight against Jonay Risco in March in Abu Dhabi.

The co-main event of the event was a bout between Muay Thai champion Jomthong Chuwatthana and Yohann Drai. The fight was exciting with both men landing hard punches, but Drai outworked Chuwatthana through the duration of the fight. Drai’s activity in the fight eventually got him a decision win over Chuwatthana.

The next event, All Star Fight 4, is scheduled to take place in at the Star Hall in Hong Kong on May 21. Banchamek will fight on that event against Victor Nagbe in the main event bout.
