Alleged Cain Velasquez Target Harry Goularte Gets Third Pre-Trial Hearing Extension

Velasquez is due back in March.

The pre-trial hearing for Harry Goularte has reportedly been delayed again.

Goularte, the alleged molester and shooting target of Cain Velasquez, will face Judge Daniel T. Nishigaya on February 27, according to MMA Junkie. This extension was granted for the third time at a Santa Clara County court on Tuesday, which supposedly happened for about one minute.

District Attorney Representative Robert Philbrook also requested a body attachment warrant for Goularte’s mother, Patricia, to be extended to the new date.

The district attorney’s office has had trouble with serving Goularte papers to appear as a witness. This has also been happening in the civil lawsuit against the Goulartes and their business – the mother owns a daycare, which Velasquez’s son was allegedly enrolled in, and the alleged child molestation took place — which was filed by Velasquez’s family.

Goularte faces one felony count of lewd acts with a minor under the age of 14. He pleaded not guilty to the charge, and was quickly out on bail.

Meanwhile, for Velasquez, it took him multiple denials before being granted bail. He is charged with attempted murder – among other counts – for allegedly shooting at Goularte in a car crash. He instead hit Goularte’s stepfather, who was in the vehicle.

Velasquez was arrested not that long after.

Velasquez is due back in court for a trial setting on March 8.
