Alycia Baumgardner Remains Undisputed With A Win Over Christina Linardatou

Alycia Baumgardner secured a unanimous-decision win over Christina Linardatou to keep her undisputed-super-featherweight title.

From the opening round, Baumgardner dominated with shots to the head and body, as Linardatou had no answer.

The crisper shots from the champion proved more effective, as she outworked her opponent. More combinations followed in the fourth, as the champion continued to step up the pace.

At the halfway stage, Baumgardner increased her attacks to the body. And as Linardatou lowered her guard, Baumgardner began to target the head.

As the fight entered into the championship rounds, Linardatou toiled as the challenger spat out her mouthguard, in a dominant win for Baumgardner on the scorecards: 99-91, 98-92 and 98-92.

“I would give [my performance] an ‘A. I can close this chapter. This game is about having fun and that’s exactly what I was doing. I’m just thankful to be here.

“What’s next? 135! Katie Taylor, I want you… Chantelle Cameron, Amanda Serrano. I will continue to defend my titles at 130 because I can do that.

“I’m great and I’m getting better. I’m always perfecting myself, always working on something. I’m a student of the game,” Baumgardner
