The performance was one-sided throughout, with Serrano in complete control before the referee waved off the contest at 2:25 of the second round following a sustained barrage that left Hanson with no answer. The victory moves Serrano level with Martin on 32 stoppages, with outright ownership of the record now within reach in her very next fight — a milestone Serrano acknowledged directly in her post-fight interview.
“This is my time. With the three minutes we get to set up shots. I was feeling her out in the first round. But I think the three minutes gave us more time to have fun in there, and that’s what I was doing, I was having fun. I can break the knockout record in my next fight. I can get my 50th win and break Christy Martin’s knockout record,” Serrano
