Amanda Serrano’s First Title Defense Of 2021 Set

Amanda Serrano is scheduled for her first bout of 2021.

The Ring got word that Serrano will put her WBC and WBO Featherweight Titles on the line against Daniela Bermudez. The two will collide on March 25. It’ll headline a Ring City USA card on the NBC Sports Network.

Serrano had the following to say on sharing the ring with Bermudez and discussed not getting the bout with Jelena Mrdjenovich.

“I’m ready for another war between (fighters from) Puerto Rico and Argentina. In 2014, I won a lightweight world title in Argentina by defeating Maria Maderna. That could be motivation for Daniela.

“Regarding Jelena, I only have to say is that she has her reasons for not fighting (me) and I respect her for all she has accomplished. I will not rest until I have all the titles at 126 pounds. I’m positive great fights can be made that will make history.”

Back in December 2020, Serrano shared the ring with Dahiana Santana. Serrano scored the first-round TKO victory.

Like Serrano, Bermudez has held multiple world titles. She has held major championships in multiple weight classes. More recently, Bermudez captured the IBF Junior-Featherweight Title by stopping Cintia Gisela Castillo in the 10th round. That championship will not be up for grabs against Serrano.
