Amir Khan Prepares For Next Fight

After Shaggygate last week, where the former champion implicated his soon to be ex-wife and current heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in an affair, Amir Khan prepares to return to the ring.

Khan has recently been recovering from a  hand injury which needed to be surgically repaired on twice and in an interview with World Boxing News claims he will be aiming for a return to the ring in November or December. The last time we saw Khan in action was in a 2016 loss to Canelo Alvarez.

Khan claimed in the interview that a tune-up fight is first on the docket and hopes to return to fighting in the UK, but claimed that Eddie Hearn (promoter for Anthony Joshua) is making it difficult.

“We’ll see what happens it’s juts a shame that I don’t get on with Eddie Hearn, if there was some respect between us then I would have loved to fight here more often and have done something with Eddie Hearn’s team but the thing is, it doesn’t make sense because they just talk s***… Every time we try to make fights, for example the Kell Brook fight it’s just gone to s*** really because these people just want to try and rip you off. I’ve been in the game a long time and they just try to mug you off, it’s very disrespectful.”

Khan concluded by stating that he’d only like to work with promoter Frank Warren, who Khan claims was always fair to him. In terms of opponent, he wants to bring in a big name American fighter like a Keith Thurman or Danny Garcia to take on in his native country.
