Star welterweight boxer Amir Khan is a massive fan of the world’s other largest combat sport, mixed-martial-arts. Not only has Khan talked about a move to the Octagon someday in the future and called out MMA fighters like Conor McGregor, he was recently pictured after training with MMA star Nate Diaz.
In the caption, Khan referred to Diaz as a ‘UFC champ’ but the Stockton local has never won a UFC world title. Diaz challenged then-lightweight champion Benson Henderson at UFC on FOX 5 but lost in a lopsided unanimous decision.
Great to have former UFC champ @NateDiaz209 train at our boxing club in SF. Keep up the good work ???? pic.twitter.com/7Wjl4aVIke

As a long time fan of mixed martial arts with a wealth of boxing experience under his belt, Khan called out Conor McGregor in 2016 and teased at a switch to MMA.
Since then, though, McGregor beat Diaz in a rematch at UFC 202 and went on to win the lightweight belt. ‘The Notorious’ now has his sights set on a boxing showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr., stating that his next fight will ‘100 percent be in boxing’.
Khan has been in talks for a return to the boxing ring rather than a switch to MMA lately, but he was in attendance when the UFC came to Brooklyn for UFC 208 on Saturday.
