Bellator bantamweight titleholder Patchy Mix has been outspoken about his lack of activity since the PFL merger, and it seems things weren’t going to get any better, as the champion has now stepped away from the organization.
Mix most recently competed at PFL’s Bellator Champions Series in May 2024, securing a split decision victory over Magomed Magomedov in the main event. But despite his success, he has not been scheduled to fight since. Even prior to his 2024 win, it seemed there was a big delay between the PFL purchasing Bellator and Mix getting his first fight under the new banner. Of course, this was frustrating for the high level competitor, and he voiced his frustration on more than once occasion.
Earlier this week, the PFL released a statement, in which the organization made the separation seem mutual, but there is no doubt more to the story than this. With the recent news, there is now speculation that Mix could pursue a contract with the UFC.
