Bob Arum Announces Three Names For Loma’s Next Fight

Bob Arum has outlined three names for Vasiliy Lomachenko’s next fight.

The Ukrainian won the vacant IBF Lightweight Title after an 11th-round TKO win over George Kambosos Jr. The Ukrainian was asked in his post-fight comments about Gervonta Davis calling him out on social media. Tank said Loma was next, provided he beat Frank Martin on June 15. That sets up a unification since Tank has the WBA belt. Lomachenko promised to take some time off before deciding what to do next.

Arum has mentioned three possible names moving forward, one of which was Davis. The other two are Emanuel Navarrete and Shakur Stevenson. A fight with Navarrete could make sense. The Mexican fights Denys Berinchyk on May 18 for the vacant belt. A bout with Shakur sets up a unification since Stevenson has the WBC belt. Stevenson has one fight left with Top Rank. A fight with Loma could be offered to extend his deal.

“The idea here in the sport is to win the belts, to win all four belts. So you can take an inventory. Tank Davis is fighting Frank Martin, and it’s a good fight, and we’ll see who wins that fight. Navarrete fights next Saturday in San Diego, which is going to be on ESPN for a [WBO] lightweight championship. He [Navarrete] was the 130-lb champion and now he’s going up to 135. So, he’s a possibility. Shakur Stevenson is fighting in July in Newark, defending his WBC. So, he’s a possibility. There are probably others,” Arum stated
