Boxing Community Praises Usyk’s Win Over Fury

Several people from the boxing industry praised Oleksandr Usyk for beating Tyson Fury.

Usyk became the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion with a split decision win. Boxing fans had to wait 25 years since Lennox Lewis did the same in 1999. The victory made Uysk a two-weight undisputed champion, joining Crawford and Naoya Inoue as the two other fighters to have done so in the four-belt era.

Usyk was around 40 pounds lighter, with a seven-inch reach disadvantage. While Usyk did say size does not matter, Fury was expected to overpower the Ukrainian. The win solidified Usyk’s status as an all-time great, as he followed Evander Holyfield in becoming an undisputed cruiserweight and heavyweight champion. Numerous people from the boxing world chimed in to give Usyk his credit.
