Charles Oliveria Eyes Fight With BMF Champ Max Holloway

Charles Oliveria is open to fighting BMF Champion Max Holloway

They fought once in 2015, with Oliveira losing the fight. The bout was stopped in the first round after Oliveira sustained an eye injury. However, both fighters are now at different stages of their career. Oliveira’s form has not been the best since winning the UFC Lightweight Title at UFC 269 against Dustin Poirier.

He made one successful defense, beating Justin Gaethje, before losing his belt to the current champion Islam Makhachev. Oliveira suffered a split decision loss in his last fight against Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300. Meanwhile, Holloway is coming off the best win of his career.

He stopped Gaethje with a second left in his fight at UFC 300 to become the BMF Champion. He has been linked with fights against Ilia Topuria and Alexander Volkanovski. Facing Topuria gives Holloway the chance to target the featherweight belt. Topuria is keen on the fight if it is for the BMF Belt. But if Oliveira has his way, he wants to face Holloway.

“Absolutely, that one, about the legacy, about everything I’ve been talking about. Why not? Win a belt, a guy that I fought many years ago. Where I had an injury during the fight so why not?” Oliveira said
