Conor McGregor And Nate Diaz Square Off On Social Media

Conor McGregor (22-6) and Nate Diaz (21-13) are at it again, but this time they have traded in the UFC Octagon for the wide open world of Twitter/X.

The exchange began with McGregor commenting on the 10-8 round that was scored by Nevada judge, Mike Bell, during the Valentina Shevchenko vs. Alexa Grasso bout last Saturday at Noche UFC. This triggered the Irishman to recount his time spent in the cage with Nate Diaz, in which he feels he should have been awarded a 10-8 round in their rematch in 2016, based on the logic that was displayed last Saturday.

Diaz responded with the following comment with regard to the fact that the trilogy fight between the pair has yet to happen, and there has been seven years since their initial bout.

It is unclear if McGregor will ever meet with Diaz in competition again, and this appears to just be speculative jawing for entertainment value. That being said, McGregor does have plans to return to active competition in the UFC, but no solid timeline has been set by the organization.

First and foremost, McGregor will need to face Michael Chandler, who coached opposite of the former double champ on the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter. Past that, McGregor has dropped Justin Gaethje’s name into the mix, in addition to trying to line up the aforementioned trilogy match with Diaz. While McGregor claimed that his return will occur in December, the UFC brass has not confirmed this.
