Crawford vs. Madrimov Confirmed For August 3

Terence Crawford will face WBA Junior Middleweight Champion Israil Madrimov on August 3 at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California.

Crawford has not boxed since his ninth-round stoppage win over Errol Spence Jr. last July. The victory made him the first Undisputed Welterweight Champion of the four-belt era. The rematch never happened, while Bud failed to get the Canelo Alvarez fight. The WBO had ordered Crawford to face Sebastian Fundora, the current WBO and WBC champion, at 154.

However, Fundora is injured until November, leaving Crawford looking elsewhere. Madrimov is undefeated, with a 10-0-1 record. His last fight was a fifth-round TKO win over Magomed Kurbanov to get the belt. He is a power puncher with an extensive amateur record, posing a tough test for Crawford, who will have his first fight at 154. A win puts Bud in line for unifications at 154.
