Cris Cyborg Will Box In June

Cris Cyborg will box before a potential MMA fight with Larissa Pacheco in September.

Cyborg’s last fight was an MMA win over Cat Zingano at Bellator 300. Since then, she has struggled to get an MMA fight. The PFL’s acquisition of Bellator has slowed down the promotion, which is going through a transition. A fight with Kayla Harrison failed. Harrison left the PFL to sign with the UFC.

A fight with Pacheco is expected, but there is no official date yet. Cyborg and Pacheco have become frustrated at the lack of communication. Cyborg has since then been focusing on boxing. She beat Kelsey Wickstrum in January. Now, Cyborg has another fight on June 15 in London to keep herself active. However, her opponent has not been announced.

“Right now I’m ready, I’m healthy, I want to fight. I’ve been training every day. I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to fight. They [PFL] say a lot of different dates. I accepted a fight with Kayla Harrison, it was supposed to be in February but it didn’t happen. You guys know the reason already, because she signed with UFC. And then they said maybe I’m going to fight Larissa Pacheco in September,” Cyborg said back at LFA 184 in Commerce, CA. “I’m ready. I’m ready, I’m healthy. Maybe I’m going to fight one boxing fight before MMA,” Cyborg said
